An editor by trade, a writer by nature, and a wordsmith at heart... With a quick wit and keen sense of humor, Jarelle could deliver a punch line right past you, if you weren’t paying attention.
Jarelle will be sorely missed by her many publishing industry friends and former colleagues at Time Life, National Geographic, and at numerous professional, collegiate, and educational publications.
Jarelle's passing will also leave a huge hole in the lives of all those who loved her. She had the rarest of gifts: the ability to truly listen. This is what made her such an exceptional editor. She instinctively knew how to enhance a writers voice, but never step on it. Her gift of listening also made her a compassionate friend. Even as she was fighting a battle for her own life against a formidible foe: brain cancer, she always found time and energy to help family or friends who were in need. She was a gentle and kind soul. If it is possible to generate good karma for your next life, then she will come back as royalty.
Jarelle: you the one I was destine to love... We shared so many, many things together: love of books and the written word, classic movies, timeless music, fine art, delicious cuisine, elegant wine, savoury spirits, a walk on the beach, new adventures, and an amazing romance!
Here's to you, Jarelle: L'chiam! Bon Voyage! See you in the next life...
